Q: When can I start taking driving lessons?

A: From the age of 17, if you hold a provisional driving licence. ​

Q: How do I get my provisional driving licence?

A: By applying on the .gov website (link on the FAQ page). It costs £34.

Q: Can I have driving lessons before I've passed my theory test?

A: Yes, you can take practical lessons while preparing for your theory test. 

​

Q: How many lessons will I need before I can take my test?

A: Everyone is different, but statistics from the DVSA show that most people need around 35 hours before they're ready for their test.

​

Q: Can I take my test in an automatic car?

A: If you pass your test in an automatic, you'll be restricted to driving automatic cars only.

Q: Where will I be picked up from before my lesson?

A: Anywhere within our area of operation (see lessons page)

Q: Do I have to use my instructors car when taking my test?

A: You can use any car you like, but I would advise you to use the car you've been practicing in. 

​

Q: Can I have lessons if I'm colourblind?

A: Absolutely. 

​

Q: I have learning difficulties, can I still have lessons?

A: Certainly. I adapt my teaching methods to suit everyone, whatever their needs. If you have a specific question please feel free to give me a call.

Q: English is my second language, can I still learn?

A: As long as you have basic English language skills that should be OK. You will need to be able to read and understand English to be able to pass your theory test.
